Zakat Calculator – Calculate Your Zakat

Zakat Calculator

Calculate your Zakat due on savings and assets.

This is a simplified estimate at the standard 2.5% rate. Please confirm your Nisab threshold and specific circumstances with a knowledgeable scholar.

How to Calculate Zakat

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, obligatory on every Muslim whose wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold for one full lunar year. This Zakat calculator makes the arithmetic simple: enter your cash savings, the value of any gold or silver you hold, your investments or business assets, money owed to you that you expect to recover soon, and any short-term debts you currently owe. The tool then works out your total Zakatable wealth and applies the standard rate of 2.5% to tell you exactly how much Zakat is due.

What counts as Zakatable wealth?

Generally, Zakat applies to cash, gold, silver, tradeable investments, and business inventory that has been in your possession for a full lunar year (Hawl) and exceeds the Nisab — the minimum threshold, traditionally based on the value of a set weight of gold or silver. Debts you owe that are due immediately can be subtracted from your total before calculating Zakat.

Is this calculator a religious ruling?

No. This tool applies the standard 2.5% rate as a quick, practical estimate. Nisab values, eligible asset categories, and specific rulings can vary between schools of thought and personal circumstances. For a precise, personally applicable calculation, please consult a knowledgeable scholar or your local Islamic center alongside using this tool.

Why calculate Zakat online?

Manually tracking multiple asset categories and doing the percentage math by hand is easy to get wrong, especially when debts and receivables are involved. A dedicated Zakat calculator keeps the calculation transparent — you can see exactly which numbers were added, which were subtracted, and how the final 2.5% figure was reached, all free and without creating an account.
